FREELENSED FRIDAYS: July 16 thru July 22

The first time I saw a beautiful freelensed image, it was love at first sight. The dreamy, creamy, richness is so yummy. It slows us down too, taking a moment to be quiet and really focus on the moment, on the scene. The deep tones and decadent colors and simple joy of  life in all of these speak straight to my heart.

FREELENSED FRIDAYS: July 9th thru July 15th

We are half way through summer and I can feel myself wanting to pick up my camera more and more as the end nears so I can capture more of its magic.  There’s something magical intertwined through the summer days that make so special.  Its unlike any other time of the year.  There’s  late bed times, gardening, sandy toes, salty kisses,  lighting bugs, camping trips, smores and the smell of freshly cut grass after and afternoon storm.  I find myself getting lost in the rhythm of these long days and being perfectly content in that.

These images were the ones that struck a cord with me and reminded me of this beautiful season.

We love seeing them so please keep sharing!

FREELENSED FRIDAYS: July 2nd thru July 8th

Lately, with all the summer activity days have passed and I haven’t picked up my camera.  But I find myself still making images in my head.  Seeing fleeting combinations of light and dark coming and going across my mind.  I wonder what this mental gymnastics does for us as artists.  This constant composing and dreaming of images to make.  I usually forget them before I ever get to make them but I find such satisfaction in the process.  This solitary act that I get to do alone with no input from the outside world is a little gift. I picked these images this week because they spark my mind and make me dream.

Keep them coming– Lindsey Bergstrom

The Freelensed Monthly Edition: July 2014

oh friends, what a june.

i feel as if i have lived a thousand summers through the stories your images tell.

i feel the heat of the sticky damp nights that live in the heart of the southern shores, the firefly magic in a young child’s eyes, sandy tides, the tang of melons, and the oh-so many dancing hearts. is it a wonder at all, for all her uncompromising glare, that we worship the sweet Sun and her blanketed rays of these long days of summer?

i am so looking forward to july and august: sun flares, lazy days together, backyard BBQs, the sweet golden hour of sunset.

collect the memories. gather them as a farmer harvests his wheat.

then, please, oh please share your freelensed images with us! we look forward to seeing them and sharing them here. xoxo –rebecca

FREELENSED FRIDAYS: June 25th thru July 1st

As I pack up this week to travel for the summer, I am grateful that I can take photography with me. All of you will also be with me for weekly inspiration when I take my lens off it’s body and change the way my eyes see an image.

Like all of my other forgotten expectations, It’s freedom at it’s best.
